Excel selects wrong cell
I have this issue as well and found that it is the zoom that is causing this to happen. If you change to 100%, you will be able to click on the right cell.
And this morning I was looking into this issue, played with the scroll lock, but I wasn't seeing the issue. Until I noticed I had the zoom at 130%.
I changed the zoom to 100% and instantly had the problem.
I have found a fairly easy work around: change worksheets. The problem goes away for a while.
I use a laptop with extended monitors. and I use the laptop keyboard. For me, quickest fix is to scroll up-down on the touchpad. This seems to reset things without having to navigate to a different worksheet.
The problem is as bad today as in March 2023, when I first reported it. All users should be offered compensation by Microsoft, and their payments waived or refunded.
