Excel selects wrong cell
HandFoodler if you could drop a link that'd be great. Will definitely report.
1. On the "file" tab at the bottom, there is a link for "Feedback". Click "I don't like something". A box should pop up, where you can report the issue.
2. Use the "Help" tab in excel, which will show a few options. I've done both "Contact Support" and "Feedback." Contact support forces you to first describe your problem and search their "suggested articles". So don't go that route. Click "feedback".
Someone contacted me within a couple days to ask for more details, and then asked me to send a wiped version of my workbook. Who knows if they ever looked at it?
But maybe, if we flood them, it will get their attention.

Same issue here, has been going on for years. The trigger seems to be changing the size of the Excel window: Excel seems to be using the old dimensions to calculate the position of the pointer. Multiple screens might be required to reproduce.
Curious things:
- On Windows, using the trackpad instead of the mouse while the issue is happening does not suffer from the same problem
- On Windows this happens all the time, on Mac more rare but still happening. Congratulations for having a cross-platform GUI issue!
Even more curious things about the questions being asked:
- For many years no-one has been using mouse drivers different than the standard HID ones in the OS (which have not changed in ages), so why on Earth would anyone ask to "install the latest drivers"?
- This happens with every spreadsheet, even an empty one. Again, why asking for which spreadsheet we've been using?
The mysteries of software and the people who create it. Anyway, I reported as feedback as suggested, we'll see.
