Excel profit and loss statement

Hi my nephew is starting to sell on ebay and I was trying to do a formula so he can see his profits and I can't seem to get it right.  Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?  I have attached the file.  I know it's super basic and I have spent an hour and a half on this.  thank you

    Hello Basilowl,

     

    There are many ways that this could be accomplished. Here are just a couple of ways:

    =SUM(C2,-SUM(D2:H2))
    {=SUM(C2,-(D2:H2))}   Press Ctrl+Shift+Enter

      PReagan   Thank you so much!  It turns out it was my personal excel is not doing formulas.  I was trying it on my work excel and the formulas did their job.  I appreciate your help
