Excel on Mac

Hi,

Can someone help me? I'm new to excel and I am using excel to keep records of my rental deposits.

When I input the amounts in the cells it is not keeping the decimal points in. Initially, it did but when I add in the amount of the rent It only adds the pound value.

Example: Instead of £250.00 it turns into 250

Thanks

Ajmair

    Hi Amjir

It sounds like you need to format the cell to show 2 decimals.

On the Home tab, look for this section.

    See the photo i attached

      Thank you Marjorie.
I did see this, but I didn’t realise I had to click on it every time I input my figures. Thanks again. 🙂

you can set Excel to always use 2 decimals.

        File

        Options

        Data

        Advanced

Check the box for Automatically insert a decimal point (Set Places to 2)
