Excel number format, 0, thousand and negative

Hi,

I need help with a custom number formatting in Excel.  I need the number format to display

  • zero as 0
  • in thousands
  • thousand separator (,) as a space   ( I google that this can be done in advanced options but is it possible not to do that in options but in number format?)
  • negative is black and using "-" with no space between "-" and next digit
  • no decimal place.

  • As long as the numbers are greater than -1000000000 and less then 1000000000, you can use the custom number format

    [<=-1000000]-0 000,;[>=1000000]0 000,;0,

    If you have numbers less than or equal to -1000000000 or greater than or equal to 1000000000, there is no single custom number format that will do what you want.

    This works for me so far!!!!  Thank you for letting me know about the limits of number format in Excel.  I think for now, I doubt the figures will get that big but you have been a great help!

      Just a quick question, when you said the limits are, the number needs to be within  -1000000000 and 1000000000, do you mean the original numbers or the expected displayed number after formatting?
