Excel Notes and Comment options gone

I am using Excel 365. I have a log in which I am constantly creating notes to provide further information for cells I create. Last night, both the option to add Notes and Comments disappeared. I am also unable to edit existing notes and comments. This is a critical function for this spreadsheet. Any suggestions on solutions?
