Excel not responding for 30 seconds
My Excel shows on the top bar as (not responding) when simply opening Excel, not even a file or worksheet. Then after 30 seconds it is fine until I close it and have to re-open it again. My Com Add-...
Another thing to check that's often forgotten is the default printer. Try switching the default printer or setting a default printer if Windows is managing printers (in which case there is no official default). The printer is important because I believe it's checked when opening the application and checked when accessing menus like File | Print.
This was the exact root cause of my problem.
I recently did an inplace upgrade of Win7 to Win10.
My default printer is normally PDF24, but I deleted it before the upgrade.
As soon as I installed PDF24 and set as Default Printer, my 30 second not-responding went away.
