Excel not generating into word templates
It sounds like a macro is being used in Word to create a specialized mail merge (or at least make the mail merge process easier). Since this looks to be a customized macro, the best approach may be to first consult the author of the macro/template, if available.

Patrick2788 ive never had to do the mail merge. My job is to create loan docs. I take the info and input it into excel, then i click macro, and ' invoke macro', then click on the document i want to generate and it takes a minute, then i click print, preview, and scroll to the word document that pops up and usually the info is populated where it is supposed to go. Its not doing that anymore and no one can figure out why. There is some kind of disconnect between excel generating the info and word receiving it and populating it in the spots its supposed to go in.

And the point that both Patrick2788 and I are trying to make (although I can't speak for him with total certainty) is that you ARE doing a mail merge, whether or not you realize it, and that you'd benefit from learning how Mail Merge works and get away from the alleged simplification of the macro, since it's not working. Have you looked at any of the links I've provided?
