Excel keeps hang while data copy and paste
Hello,
There could be several reasons why your Excel sheet is getting slow when you are copying data from a website. Here are some possible solutions:
Turn off automatic calculation: By default, Excel calculates formulas automatically. This can slow down the performance of your worksheet. To turn off automatic calculation, go to the "Formulas" tab, click "Calculation Options," and select "Manual."
Use Excel's data import feature: Instead of copying and pasting data manually, you can use Excel's data import feature to import data directly from the website. Go to the "Data" tab, click "Get Data," and select the appropriate data source. This will help you to import data more efficiently and avoid any issues with slow performance.
Clear the clipboard: When you copy data in Excel, it is stored in the clipboard. If you have a large amount of data in your clipboard, it can slow down the performance of Excel. To clear the clipboard, go to the "Home" tab, click the drop-down arrow next to "Clipboard," and select "Clear All."
Check for formatting issues: Conditional formatting can slow down Excel if it is applied to a large range of cells. Make sure that you are only applying conditional formatting to the cells that you need. Additionally, check for any other formatting issues in your worksheet, such as excessive cell borders or unnecessary styles.
Close other programs: Running multiple programs at the same time can slow down your computer and cause Excel to perform poorly. Close any unnecessary programs and try running Excel again to see if this improves performance.
Upgrade your hardware: If you are working with large amounts of data, you may need to upgrade your computer's hardware to improve performance. Consider adding more RAM or upgrading to a faster processor to help Excel run more smoothly.
