Excel issue importing data from the web

I am trying to import data from a website but I do not have the option/button to "get & transfer". I have looked at many Youtube videos and all the Microsoft help articles and every one directs you to this option and yet my version of Excel doesn't have it! I have just spent 3 hours on online chat with Microsoft uninstalling and re-installing everything so it's nothing to do with my version etc etc.

Anyone had this problem and found a solution?

Simon63 If you are an MS365 subscriber you should have the option on the Data ribbon. The icon name is "Get Data (Power Query)".

But, since you are a Mac, you can't connect to the Web since that connector simply is not (yet) supported in Excel for Mac.

Can't understand why on-line chat suggested to uninstall and reinstall. Total waste of time.

There is no solution other than to wait until MS adds the web connector to PQ for the Mac. Running full version PQ on a Mac requires running Windows with Excel on a virtual PC with Bootcamp or Parallels.

Riny_van_Eekelen thank you for that I appreciate you taking the time.

What is weird is that I used to be able to do this and there was a way to do it on a mac, albeit quite convoluted, I just can't remember how!

Simon63 That may have been via Run Web Query..., nowadays stashed a way under Data (top menu) then Get Data (Power Query)

Quite odd as it has nothing to do with Power Query. I have no hands on experience with Web Query.
