Excel glitches out each time I change a font or cell color [Office 2016 for Mac]

Every time I try to change the color of the text or a cell in my worksheet, Excel freezes and then stops working. After several minutes, I get an error report and the app closes.

I have looked for support on internet, but no luck finding something to help me.

I have already:

1) Reinstalled the office suite.

2) Updated the app.

It is on Mac, I use Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.4
