Excel Freezing
We are using the latest version of Excel, using the Current channel.
Over the past few months Excel has started freezing more and more. It seems to be related to when opening files and when auto save is happening.
I have done the following
- tried creating a simple s/sheet and it happens even on a these with very little info in them.
- repaired the installation
- used the trouble shooter
- uninstalled and reinstalled
- tried the 32 bit version
- checked version is actually updating
- tried saving the file locally outside of my documents
- monitored the Excel app using resource monitor and can see that when the app "freezes" it is usually Microsoft Defender checking the file
- logged a call with Microsoft but because of GDPR I am not able to send them a copy of our data so they closed my call
Is anyone else experiencing these issues and if so do you have any suggestions.

I just had an issue where Excel wouldn't print to my network printer. Tried all the fixes but then checked for updates (Dell). I had 11 updates with 2 critical updates, including BIOS. After updates, no issues. May be worth a try.
