Excel freezes more rows and columns as intended
I would like to freeze just the first 3 columns of a document. When selecting the columns and select the freeze option, it automaticaly freezes more columns and additional 19 rows (see pictures)
What could be the cause of this mistake?
Opening a new document shows the same problem.

Steffen1155 Better to think in terms of the first cell towards the right of the columns you want to freeze and below the row(s). So if you only want to freeze the first three columns, select D1 and then Freeze Panes. If you want the freeze the first two columns and the top three rows, select C4 and then Freeze Panes.

Steffen1155 Select the column to the right of the last column you want to freeze. In your case, since you want to freeze the first three columns, select column D and then click on "Freeze Panes" option.
