Excel formulas and functions

Ciao to everybody. I wonder if a function (or other method) exists to calculate the sum of the e.g. 5 hyghest values in the rows of a data base where in the columns the the tournements of a golf circuit are listed and in the rows the results of each player are listed. Not necessarily all players have a result in each tournement. I need an additional column where the sum of the best 5 results of each player is fitted, in one shot. I have done it one by one by a macro, but players may be more tha 100 and tournements more the 30. Thank you for help
