Excel Formula
Hi, I would like to ask if there’s a formula to highlight every nth time a specific value pops up. for example;
apple, orange, apple, banana, strawberry, apple
when every third ‘apple’ shows up it will highlight the cell.
apple, orange, apple, banana, strawberry, apple
when every third ‘apple’ shows up it will highlight the cell.
Do you mean something like this?
If so you may apply conditional formatting rule to the range with formula as
=(COUNTIF($A1:A1,A1)>=3)*(A1<>"")

- fft6_aloysiusCopper Contributoranother example would be;
apple banana apple banana apple banana orange orange orange
for the third banana, apple and orange it will automatically highlight the cell. meaning, instead of one exact value it is multiple values in one column. i dont know if my explanation is clear enough but i hope you understand- SergeiBaklanDiamond Contributor
