Excel formula not evaluating

I am facing a rather quirky issue with some of the excel formulae. In a few cells, the formula is not getting evaluated. It is showing the formula text instead. The formula evaluation tool shows "the cell currently being evaluated contains a constant." Any idea as to what could be the problem?

Formulas in other cells are just working fine.,

As variant cells with formulas are formatted as text. If so apply General format and re-enter formulas (F2, Enter)

Without a file (without sensitive data) one can only guess.
My assumption is that there is an inaccessible link to another sheet in the conditional formatting.

Anyway, here is a small solution, without guarantee.

Go to Home -> Conditional Formatting -> Delete Rules -> Delete Rules in Entire Sheet.

So the message should go away.

I would be happy to know if I could help.
