Excel formula can't be written properly, the cell is already in grey highlighted

When starting writing a formula in excel, it should normally = A1+B1, but when I move to A1 with the keyboard, A1 is highlighted in grey in the formula, and when I type + again, A1 is gone. How can I fix this so that A1 is not highlighted in grey?

    Where do you place your last consor?

     

    Do you place it on C1?
