excel filtering issues
hi, i have had excell through most of the MS application programs and always upgraded when had a new lap top...over the years i filter my database on a spread sheet and when ever i needed to find a customer i obvioulsy always have that sheet filltered and it found that customer etc when i punched the name in however over the years i have nearly 12,000 names and addresses but there over time seems to have been a issue soemwhere as over 10,000 it doesnt find that customer or any customer.....how do i make the filter find any what ever the customer number?...i cant work out how i fix it. my pc world shop when he transferred all files to current lap top couldnt work it out either.

There is a limit as in how many individual entries can be shown in the filter box.
However you can use the search box to type the customer name you're looking for.

yes thank you thats what i have always done for years but the problem is...'after' 10,000 additions eg there could be 100 'smiths' or '300 hamilton' customers with the same name in first 10,000 and some in after 10,000 is there a way that the filter can find 'after' 10,000? or is there a break or a glitch or a setting missing that prevent s this?....thank you

I quickly set up some sample data. About 50000 records - consisting of four individual names.
When I filter a name I get about 12000 records. No problem there.
