Excel file password protection without restriction about 7 characters minimum

Hi expert team,   Everyday, i used passwords to protect my excel files before sending them to my clients. When i have to choose the password, there is always a restriction with a minimum of 7 char...

What version of Excel are you using?

 

I just encrypted my file with 123 as the password

    I'm not sure as it's my work computer but i think it's office 16 (refer to picture attached)

        i used the 1st method ( i don't know how to use the 2nd method)

        but my colleague used the 2nd method and have the same problem

         

        How do i use the 2nd method ?
