Excel Extremely slow when zooming to 10%
@Detlef Lewin @Riny_van_Eekelen Hi community: I was able to find the source of this issue that I am experiencing. It is caused by the Windows 11 22H2 update! My son purchased a new computer a few days ago with Excel installed on it out of the box. We tested the example excel sheet on it and the example flew at record speed. Well some 1 hour later when he applied the Windows update above, Excel exhibited the exact same issue! We did not update Office - so it was only Windows and the Laptop drivers. When he rolled back the Windows update and retested Excel - the program worked great. I confirmed this with Microsoft Tech support supervisor who also did this on my computer. I hope that Microsoft figures out this bug in their upgrade and corrects it soon. I have suspended updates on my Laptop until I absolutely have to or Microsoft somehow indicates they found this bug.
AndyBasa Hi! Could you give us an update to your 22H2 error?
Have you been staying on that feature update for all this time? I am having issues with my (older) PC as well and am unsure of rolling back all that way.
I will be updating the PC next year (intel 15 series) for a fighting chance at these unusable excel spreadsheets.
- AndyBasaMar 01, 2024Copper ContributorMy older IBM Thinkpad and my son's laptop worked well with the spreadsheet. There must have been something I figure between Windows OS not recognizing that there was the NVDIA graphics board and allowing it to process the graphics. I had lots of memory, nothing else running - but it simply bogged down Excel to the level of useless. Hope you hare not having a similar issue.

Thanks for the reply!
Your older laptop and your son's ended up lagging once updated as well?
It is strange that an update would have such an effect and not be corrected over such a long time. There may be something else to it.
Riny_van_Eekelen Could you confirm if it still works on your PC, as it went well the first timeThanks for the update! 🙂

No Window's update has been able to resolve this issue to date! I had purchased a brand new computer for RAW image processing using the Excel spreadsheet, but after weeks of struggling with the PC manufacturer and then Windows - luckily I found a wonderful APP that can handle RAW images easily. That saved me a ton of time and the frustration with Windows. I would recommend if you are using similar spreadsheets at the 10% zoom level that you get a chance to test out some basic spreadsheet with the computer. Note that I also regularly update my NVDIA drivers and that too made zero difference. I ended up returning the brand new computer by the way. Good luck.
