Excel data sorting
This may be an elementary process, but can anyone tell me how to sort columns of random order part numbers into numerical order, whilst also moving the associated data for each part number in each row along with it?

Do not select the entire part number column when you want to sort by it.
Instead, either click in a single cell in the part number column, or select the entire range to be sorted, then use the Tab key to move the active cell to the part number column. Then sort.
