excel crashing with 10k stocks
it seems that excel is unstable using it as a database for studying stocks for a hedge fund was at 14,000 but errors pruned that down until I can insert more symbols which can be a challenge ...
Is there a question in there?
If so, you could make it more explicit. Also significant (or potentially so) would be information on what hardware and software you're running, OS and version of Excel.

I repeat: Is there a question in there, in what you've written? I don't see one.
And there's certainly not a complete description of what you're doing when Excel crashes.
I have a worksheet with stocks and holdings etc and this is selected into a summary worksheet an a pro forma, the stock worksheet is a database
I also frequently see errors galore in the worksheet of stocks
So I take it, after repeatedly asking, that you have no question. You're just offering an observation.
