Excel crashing when opening a certain spreadsheet

Thanks Wyn for the hint about Dropbox.
I have been struggling for weeks to find a solution to opening one specific file from the recent or pinned file lists causing excel to shutdown. (I was able to open it from the folder which contained it.)
Uninstalling dropbox seems to have corrected the problem at last.
