Excel Conversion to CSV

Hi,

I would like to know if there's any other way we can convert an excel file (.xlsx) to CSV without loosing/adding  any data. Some have the dash (-) character at the beginning of the texts and when the file is being converted to csv, it becomes a formula (a lot of ERROR shows on the columns) .  We already tried modifying the texts by adding quotation marks, it works but it is a hassle since we have multiple files to convert.

Thank you in advance.

I am not sure of a solution within excel but 3rd party utilities can be very helpful in this regards such as Total Excel Converter: https://www.coolutils.com/TotalExcelConverter
  • Hi

When you say it becomes a formula, are you saying that when you open up the CSV to look at it using Excel then Excel turns it into a formula?

Does the CSV look OK if you open it in NotePad?
