Excel conversion issue? - comma separated vs column separated

I have a .csv file that is comma separated between columns.   When I open the file in Excel, the data appears as expected, separated in columns.   However, when a coworker opens the same file in Excel, the data is separated by commas.

When we check the Control Panel > Region > Additional Settings > 'List Separator' settings, we both show the same setting:  a Comma.

So why does the data appear as separated by commas for my coworker, however when I open the same file, I see the data separated in columns?

Let your coworker check File > Options > Advanced in Excel.

Has the check box 'Use system separators' been cleared and has 'Decimal separator' been set to comma?

HansVogelaar thank you for the info!  That seems to be the issue.   When I reached out to my coworker the next day, she checked her decimal separator setting and it was set to a 'comma' instead of a 'decimal'.   Thank you!!
