EXCEL CHANGE TELEPHONE NRS

Hi it is the first time I am asking for help. I have a list of telephone nrs that I must take the 27 infront of South Africas telephone nrs away to put it into another system. I try to change it with numbers, first go to special and change to United states and then telephone nrs. Then go to numbers again with custom and 

excel

    Changing format you only change how phone numbers are shown in Excel, their values will be the same. Better to use formulas as TEXT() and paste resulting texts into another system.
