Excel cells in color not transferring in copy/paste.
Hello.
Can anyone assist with this issues, please. About 2 weeks ago my Excel spreadsheets with colored cells would not copy/paste into Outlook or Word with the color. It's frustrating, as Outlook will not allow me to color them in once I have pasted them, so I stuck, unable to move forward with my project. A coworker is able to copy/paste from her Excel into Word or Outlook.
Any ideas, please? Anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Thank you for your time.

One possible reason for this issue could be that the default paste options in Outlook or Word are set to paste only the text and not the formatting.
You can try changing the default paste options in Outlook or Word by following these steps:
- In Outlook or Word, click on the File tab and select Options.
- In the Options dialog box, select Mail (in Outlook) or Advanced (in Word).
- Scroll down to the “Cut, copy, and paste” section.
- In the “Pasting from other programs” drop-down list, select “Keep Source Formatting”.
- Click OK to save your changes.
After changing this setting, try copying and pasting your Excel data again to see if the cell colors are preserved.
If this doesn’t work, you can try pasting your data using the “Paste Special” command.
Here’s how:
- In Excel, select the cells you want to copy and press Ctrl+C to copy them to the clipboard.
- In Outlook or Word, right-click on the location where you want to paste the data and select “Paste Special”.
- In the Paste Special dialog box, select “Microsoft Excel Worksheet Object” and click OK.
This should paste your data along with its formatting, including cell colors.
I hope this helps!
