Excel can't set the wight exactly in mm. It operates with points (=1/72 of the inch) and pixels (number of dots per inch). In behind that's rounded, if ask for 5mm it will be rounded to nearest number of points. I don't remember exact algorithm, las time I seen it was about 10 years ago. You may google for the relationship between mm, points and pixels.

You can change it to mm in the advance setting. But that isn't the issue at hand its getting it to change the cell widths to the 5mm. But this is not possible in my opinion.
