Sorry to hear that. One of options to avid that, if you have 365 subscription, keep files on OneDrive mapped on local disk. With that you have quite long versions history from which previous version of the file could be restored.
Thanks for all your efforts. I have investigated the issue at my end. My daughter saved a picture of her certificate and somehow it got saved in place of my workbook and hence the file while was .xlsx format was overwritten by a picture. So i guess I have lost the file. Many thanks for the support.
