Excel cannot be open because the file format or file extension is not valid

Hi All,

 

There is an Excel.xlsx file in my computer named mindmagiq.xlsx. I accidentally deleted that file and then I recovered it with the help of a recovery file tool.

There was no error in the last modified date 

The below error message appears every time I try to open the file.


I even tried to "open and retrieve" but nothing happen

      JKPieterse thanks for your response 
      Even though I had doubts about recovery, this file can't be fixed, but I need the data urgently for my work. 
      By any chance you know any other way to repair the damaged files, please let me know I need the files

        HarmandeepK There are some recovery tools out there, google for spreadsheet file recovery. Other than that, if you right-click the folder where the file is stored (or even the file itself) and select properties, is there a previous versions tab?
