Excel borders are self erasing...

Hello,
You can try the steps below
1. Select the range you wanna apply all borders
2. Execute CTRL + 1
3. Select Border
4. Click on the Left, Right, Bottom, Top and Middle Border line
5. Click OK

Well that didn't work. What it appears to be happening is that when I click on all borders, instead of installing, it erases. The more I try, the more it erases. Something has been clicked to delete borders, and it was not intentional, but that is what I think has happened. As far as clicking on the 4 borders in the border set up box, it never did highlight anything...
