Hi lauracross2020

You might have accidentally activated "High Contrast"
Press Alt + Left Shift + Print Screen to turn it OFF.
You can go to Windows Setting > Ease Of Access > High Contrast

ExcelExciting and lauracross2020 after select high contrast my excel background turned black color and after high contrast turned off the black color stills remain. Do you have another suggestion to turn back the original white color?
