Excel: Adding new data into row

Hi,

So I have a normal excel table with many rows of data, the columns are code number, item number, item name, and so on.

I want to find a way to update a row in the table in an easier and more efficient way like how it is done in Microsoft Access. We just click update and the records are updated automatically but in excel if I choose a cell and try to update it, either the file crashes or just keeps loading

This is just a normal table and not a power pivot.

Just wanted to know if there's any other way this can be done

I'm trying to picture what you're describing. Are you saying you can't just go into a cell that needs revision and enter the new (correct) data, whether that be text, a number, a date.....?

It's not something I've ever experienced, certainly not on a repeated basis. If it's possible, can you post a link to a copy of the file (so long as it contains no proprietary or confidential info). (The file itself can be on any of the common "cloud" repositories.)
