Excel 365: Issues with Icons & Picture Options in Insert menu tab

Hello Microsoft Tech Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention an issue I have encountered in Excel 365, specifically related to the "Icons" option under "Insert --> Illustrations."

Previously, when accessing the Icons menu option, I used to see a comprehensive list of icons to choose from as exhibited in the following video:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/video-insert-icons-d9917030-32db-458c-b119-3a942e5f6ef4

However, recently, instead of the expected icon selection interface, a dialog box appears that only allows the insertion of icons from This PC (as shown below).

Furthermore, I have observed that the options for Stock Images and Online Pictures are currently disabled (Please refer to the image below). I am uncertain whether this is connected to the previously mentioned issue.

This change has limited my ability to easily choose from a variety of icons as before. I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and provide any insights or solutions to restore the previous functionality.

Details of the issue:

  • Software: Microsoft Excel 365
  • Issue No. 1: Icons menu in the "Insert --> Illustrations" section no longer displays a list of icons but instead opens a dialog for inserting icons from This PC only.
  • Issue No. 2: Insert>>Pictures>>Stock Images and Online Pictures options are currently disabled.

I believe many users may have experienced this change and addressing it would significantly enhance the user experience. Your assistance in resolving this matter or providing guidance on any changes in the recent updates would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
