Excel 365 (free web version) not grouping dates in pivot tables
I have a sheet with the following data;
Date | Salesperson | Amount |
4/4/2021 | Ellie | $727.00 |
6/11/2021 | Izzy | $426.00 |
4/12/2021 | Frank | $314.00 |
5/2/2021 | Dara | $228.00 |
7/28/2021 | Dara | $563.00 |
8/20/2021 | Frank | $200.00 |
3/17/2021 | Alice | $737.00 |
2/16/2021 | Chris | $455.00 |
9/26/2021 | Izzy | $396.00 |
12/3/2021 | Izzy | $964.00 |
1/27/2021 | Henry | $909.00 |
When I create a pivot table, Excel is creating columns like this;
Sum of AmountDate Salesperson1/1/20211/2/20211/3/20211/4/20211/5/20211/6/20211/7/20211/8/20211/9/2021
Alice | 1275 | 3180 | 976 | 3575 | 1630 | 2012 | 230 | 3258
Bob | 385 | 2383 | 2871 | 2671 | 1592 | 413 | 241 | 156
Chris | 629 | 124 | 968 | 735 | 3253 | 540 | 2423 | 1077 | 1843 |
Dara | 2252 | 3026 | 1194 | 1337 | 2675 | 574 | 617 |
In Excel 2016 the pivot table is grouped correctly. If I right-click a data field, there isn't a group by option. How can this be fixed?

At the moment, Excel for the Web doesn't support grouping in PivotTables.
It appears it is a feature the Excel team is considering:
