Excel 2019 vs 2016

Recently began some online courses, and downloaded the incorrect version of Office, apparently. I have removed 2019, and downloaded 2016, but I think my recent purchase of this laptop, for said course, had Excel onboard, and now, even though I have removed all instances of any 2019 Office programs, Excel is still loading in 2019 version. Anybody have any idea how I go backwards? The course I am taking is still running off the 2016 version & textbook, and there are themes, & certain data input options that are unavailable in 2019. I have uploaded any of my work in Excel, to my OneDrive cloud already, and am ready to uninstall Excel & begin again, but it is not in the list of programs at all either. ๐Ÿ˜ž

Help??

  • Hello,

Having used both Excel 2016 pro plus and the latest 2019 pro plus version, I can recommend that you should stick with 2019 version because it has new features, charts and functions that are unavailable in 2016 version.

Back to your question, kindly type in a cell, =MAXIFS, =CONCAT, or =IFS function. These and more are functions that are available in 2019 version and Office 365. If none of the functions comes up, that implies that you're running on 2016. Otherwise, using 2019

Kindly let me know if the above helps.

    Regards
