I went to the same place as you File->Options->Proofing->Autocorrect->Autoformat > and unchecked "Include new rows and columns in table"
It then stops adding automatically for me.

- Are you on the latest version of Excel 2016?
- As I mentioned, I've already tried this... doesn't change any functionality of the table. Rebooted computer, checked for any program updates, and started new blank worksheet and still no change.
Can someone please look at this file and see if they can reproduce the problem I'm having?
- Just tested this on another computer in our office w/ latest version of Excel 2016 and same thing... checking or unchecking the settings in 'AutoFormat As You Type' in the document Options/Proofing screen has any impact on how tables function... Can someone on the latest version of Excel 2016 test this to confirm??
