Excel 16.11 macOS and SMB share
Hi everyone,
Context :
- 1 server running macOS 10.13.3 where SMB share is configured on external thunderbolt drive (many folders and files in this share)
- multiple clients running macOS 10.13.3 and office 2016 version 16.11.1 (1800319)
- every user is defined in server, with special access on folders
- all rights access / word / pdf and others files have correct behaviors, except excel files
Issue :
- 1 user create or edit a .xls or .xlsx file (all files with xls and xlsx extensions are concerned)
- a second user wants to edit the same file, he will get a pop up asking for "Please select the file "....xlsx" :" with a "Grant Access" button.
- when you click Grant Access you got this :
Alert Excel cannot open the file 'Copy of Book1.xlsx' because the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file.
What i tried :
- changing permissions on folders = KO
- with guest access = KO
- i installed all updates for server os / client os / office
- renaming file = KO "you don't have permissions to do this"
- copying file = KO "you don't have permissions to do this"
Anyone has ever see it?
