Excel - The very basics! Grey grid lines disappearing..
Hey there! Could someone please let me know why they grey grid lines disappear when you edit the contents? One or two is fine, but my spreadsheet is becoming awkward to read as the lines disappear when I edit the box. Thank you!!

My gridlines in Excel, especially, have recently faded to being almost invisible. I can set a new colour using View but this works for the current workbook only. How do I set a preferred default colour so a new workbook opens with that style? The lines have also disappeared from my Print dialog box.
What has happened? How do I fix it? And I have checkmarked the "gridlines on" option.
I'm using Version 16.771 Office Home & Student for Mac.
Thanks.

- NauthstarIron ContributorSounds like it might be that you have some mixed formatting issues. Try a Right Hand mouse click on the cell and select "Format Cells" to see the Border settings and compare them to a good cell.

I am supporting a small group of Office365 business users. One user has this problem, grid lines disappearing, with Excel on every sheet she opens. How do I fix the formatting problem for Excel, not an individual sheet?
I had such issue previously, each new workbook is opened without gridlines. XLSTART folder is empty. Didn't dig what was the reason, clean re-install helped, just repair doesn't work.
