Excel - Lost data
Hi,
I need help to recover the data. I have lost the data by mistake and now I would like to understand if there is a way to recover that data.
I have a file (Name - Drive D FY19-20) saved in drive D and have created a desktop shortcut (Name - FY19-20). I have created another copy of that shortcut file (FY19-20) on the desktop and have changed the file name (Name - FY20-21) to begin with the changes. Now whatever changes I have made in the file FY20-21 are reflecting in my original file saved in drive D FY19-20. Therefore we have lost our previous years account.
Is there any way to recover the data before changes?

It sounds like you renamed the shortcut rather than saving a copy of the original file. Given the file is on your D Drive and not on OneDrive or SharePoint then there is no easy remedy. Hopefully you have system backups from previous months that could be used to restore the file.
