Excel - group edit cells with drop downs no longer works

Hi, we have various Excel work books that have a large number of work sheets within, each used to record different data, but effectively the layout is the same. 

The latest Office update rolled out by our organisation has resulted in the inability to group edit data in cells with drop down. 

Previously you could use drop down in one worksheet, see what value you needed for perhaps the next 8 work sheets, then group select all those nine (first one plus other eight), then type in the value (ie one of the values that was in the drop down - these are within look up tables using data validation).  Now we have to go into every sheet and select the value in this cell on everyone, as if you group edit it only changes the one worksheet you are showing, not the other 8.
Anyone come across this or aware of an update to fix this issue? Believe we are on version 2308.  It's driving us mad as it's not efficient...

    I can confirm your discovery. This is obviously a bug. I would suggest that you click Help, Feedback and tell them you don't like something. I've done the same.
