Entering % less than 1%
I have a spreadsheet with list the Sales tax by region in Wisconsin. There are some regions missing and when I update the sheet by enter .5 in the cell formatted for percent I get 50.00% instead of .5%. The only way I can get .5% is if I enter the decimal equivilant. I would think this a bug. I have Microsoft 365 and I updated about 1 month ago.

I am not sure if this is a bug or by design but feel free to give feedback to microsoft using the help->feedback button. Not sure if it is a bug or they figure the % time (pun not intended) someone enters a 0.5 in a cell formatted as Percent but means 50% is more often then how often people are entering fractional percents.
but yes, even though you have it formatted as Precentage already, you need to either enter 0.005 or 0.5% to get the decimal percent.
Enter .5% including the % symbol.
