Enter comments disabled
My excel is showing up with the insert comments disabled. The spreadsheets already have several comments and I just cannot add comments anymore. I need this feature too much. How do I enable this?

This may not apply to your situation, but it worked for me:
I received a spreadsheet via email and experienced this issue. I noticed it was in Compatibility Mode (Excel 2003-2007). I saved the file in .xlsx format, exited Excel, then re-opened the new version. Comments are now enabled!
