Embedded Object's won't move and size with Cells
PC/Windows 10
Microsoft Office Home and Student 2013 Version 15.0.5371.1000
I am using excel to track our expenses and I am frustrated by the object property "move and size with cell" function not working the way that it should. I insert my receipt files, I make sure that all sides of the object box are inside the cell, and then I format the object to move and size with the cell that it is in. The objects will resize correctly, but if I use the sort function to sort the columns by date, store (A-Z), category (expense type) or even cost, the objects stay right where I left them while all the rows change like they should. How do I fix this? Am I missing a step somewhere?
I have been working on this issue for over a year and I have finally found the real issue and how to correct it. When adding an object into a cell in excel, you can use snap to grid to get the object to line up quickly, however, if you resize the object to take up the entire cell space, the program gets confused. I found that turning off snap to grid, and resizing the objects to leave a gap all the way around the object inside the cell, is what made the difference. It appears that using snap to grid and resizing the object to "fit" inside the cell, actually causes an overlap with the cells around it. I hope this helps someone else.
