dragging over excel sheet and a formula was picked up and placed into a cell that it did not exist
i was trying to set borders across the excel spreasheet and somehow a fornula was inserted into a cell where there was none. Now I cannot get rid of this formula

Without a sample, this would be difficult to diagnose. Perhaps you could share a sample of your workbook (remove any sensitive information - of course).
