Dragging and copying a formula
Hi, hoping someone can figure this out. I am trying to copy down a % increase - its a long list but it will not copy down. I have gone into automation and that is ticked, also file options advanced...
I like how this highlights that Excel isn’t just copying formulas blindly—it’s interpreting intent through relative positioning. The distinction between copying, dragging, and locking references with F4 is something that’s easy to overlook but makes a big difference in real usage.
