For the first time, my roughly weekly Microsoft 365 and Office Updates download, for my Microsoft 365 Insider Current Channel (Preview), attempting to be executed from the Excel-Account screen, is no...

Yes, I tried both last night and again just now, and am having this same very annoying issue with this update as I had with the preceding update before it ultimately worked after multiple tries. I really wish Microsoft would get its act together with what should be routine update processes instead of headache-filled ordeals.

I've tried doing an offline repair and that didn't work and now I'm in the process of doing an online repair. It uninstalled Office and now it's stuck downloading it again. It just says, "We're getting things ready...". Presuming this is an issue with the insider preview channel. I will have to revert back to broud and try re-installing from there.
- Steve1330Feb 14, 2024Brass ContributorAnthony, did you try my suggestion above from the first time this happened to me? That is, first repairing both Microsoft 365 App items in your Windows Apps list, and then trying the Office 365 update again? I haven't had time yet to try this again. Will let you know after I do.
- Anthony RussellFeb 14, 2024Iron ContributorI did, but it didn't work for me. There is definitely something wrong with the preview channel, as I've just uninstalled Office and tried to use the deployment tool. I get this error:
"We found a problem! We're sorry, we can't continue because we weren't able to download a required file."
Current channel configuration works fine.- Steve1330Feb 14, 2024Brass ContributorAnthony, I just repaired both App items for Microsoft 365, and then ran the update from Excel again, like I always do, and then after taking about an hour, this time once again the update finally downloaded and installed as desired. So, maybe you didn't give it enough time after your repair process?
