Don’t unwrap text when I do a column width

When I autofit column widths I don’t want the text in the column to unwrap and the column width to extend to the full width necessary for all the text in 1 row

This problem only happens with some of my spreadsheets (not all of them)

Colin Weakley Autofit means the column width would be automatically expanded to fit the longest content in that column. If you do not want text to expand, better to set the column width to your desired width (either use mouse to slide the separator between columns left or right to what you want, or right click the column heading and choose Column width), then select the whole column and choose Wrap Text.

Hello and thanks for your help

Some of my spreadsheets don’t work as you say. When select the entire worksheet and then click AutoFit Column Widths the column widths are adjusted to accommodate the wrapped text, but the text does remain wrapped

I have figured out 2 workarounds though

      • To enter a Line Break where I want the text to wrap (I would still prefer it to do it automatically though)
      • To set a Column Width and fix it so that in never changes unless I manually change it - do you know how to do that?
