Division
1. Why on earth would you use IMDIV()?
2. B12/2 is sufficient.
3. You are probably using a special number format. Change it to "General".
Hi there have tried the changes but as you can see on the table i sent the odd number on the front nine
still does not divide by i left the back nine as it was, which ever i used same problem niether will halve

dawesy Hi Ian, so you are still using the schedule we worked on earlier? Introducing the "half HCP" columns is OK but it copied the custom number format from the columns at the left. That format eliminates all decimals. In M10, just use =B10/2 and set the format of column M to General (as suggested by Detlef_Lewin ) and all works fine. Similar for column Z.

And by the way, this is what MS support says about IMDIV:
"Returns the quotient of two complex numbers in x + yi or x + yj text format."
Not something you would want to use for division of "regular" numbers where you also would want to return a numeric value.
