Division formula

I'm a newbie to Excel formulas.  In column C my table shows the monthly billing totals for our shared neighborhood well.  I want Column D to show the value from column C divided by 6.  I have formatt...

Let's say the total cost is entered in cell C2, then enter in D2 the following formula:

 

=C2/6

    Riny_van_Eekelen ok, but how do I get it to apply Cx/6, where x is each line in Column C, except the header, without having to create the function in each cell in column D?

      Hi Banzel99 , you have couple of options: 

       

       

      -You can copy cell D2 in following rows. The formula will be created in reference to hte corresponding row. C3/6, C4/6 and so no

       

      -Also, If you already have completed column C, you can double click in right/botton corner and formula will be automatically copied until last row in column C.
